Need info on Leonards/Freemans who immigrated to US in 1886; home-
steaded in Custer County Nebraska; Roman Catholics in Tibohine parish,
Loughglynn, County Roscommon. Patrick was my great-greatgrandfather
married Mary Carroll; Hubert, my great-grandfather married Julia Freeman and migrated to US with ten children. One daughter married
Thomas Teahon who migrated with Hubert and Julia to Philadelphia and
hence to Nebraska. _________________ Leonard family of Loughglynn, County Roscommon, Ireland; Hubert and Julia migrated
to US in 1886 with 10 children. |

LDS has a "Joannem" (either James or John) Leonard who married a Catherine Callaghan (possible member of my family tree--that's
why I've kept the Leonard reference) on June 6, 1820 (Laughlyn parish records which encompasses Tibohine parish records). I also have a Robert Leonard, born USA who married an Elizabeth Mahon on February 22, 1938. Elizabeth's parents were born in Ireland and came to US between 1901 and 1910, and lived in New Jersey. Probably not very helpful to you, but the name "Leonard" seems to pop up in my research from time to time, so you message caught my eye. You would probably find the British Vital Records CD set available for about $20 from FHL helpful in your search.

Hello,
I am looking for any information on a Leonard family supposedly from south Roscommon.
There names where;
Edward Leonard
Patrick Leonard
Thomas Leonard aged 35 in 1920.
I have not been able to find them on the 1901 census definately, they where supposedly from Knockcroghery by 1920.
Hope some one might be able to help.
Regards,
Loughree |

I have a GGgrandfather, Michael Carroll, who was born in Tibohine, County Roscommon. He marriage Elizabeth Dagnan/Duignan from Tibohine, Co. Roscommon. They emigrated to England for one generation, and the next generation came to the US in 1886/7. Maybe a relative of your Carroll? |
