: : : : Cornelius McGreevy and Anna (Nancy) Timon came to Hamilton OH ca. 1840. Their descendants now number in the hundreds. They live in Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, IL, GA, Kansas, California, Maryland and me, in District of Columbia. I met Michael McGreevy and Bernadetta Walsh McGreevy this summer in Ardcarne, Moylurg, Boyle Barony, County Roscommon. McDermot's, who drove our ancestors from their 'ancestral home' in Moylurg on the shores and islands of Loch Key, had a big family reunion last year. : : : : Let us not be outdone!
: : : : Time for McGreevy's from all 'round the world to begin planning for a reunion at Loch Key State Park in summer 2000. We will celebrate a thousand years of forward progress since our ancestors helped the Cistercians establish Boyle Abbey.

: : : : Keep in touch. Let other McGreevy descendants know about this message board.

: : I am interested in Anna Timon. Timon is the name of my grandfather's family in Co. Roscommon and has proved to be a difficult name to research as it seems to be quite uncommon. Any information will be appreciated.
My Grandfather was Bennett McGreevy from Ireland.
Came to the USA as a young teen, joined the cavalry and worked as a telegrapher. Was stationed at Fort Apache and other colorful places. His other came from Ireland to Boston for a visit. He rode from Arizona to Boston by horseback to visit her. H is from Roscommon and spoke of Boyle Abbey.
My mother was Helen Marie McGreevy, Her sister Sister Cecilia McGreevy a Dominican Nun
from Everett Washington. I have an Uncle Bennett and Uncle Erin, both deceased, a cousin Patrick McGreevy a major in US army in Wash DC. Hope we can make it. Supply more details. Heard there was a ghost "Lady McGreevy". Is it true?
