My grandfather, John Horan, was born 21 March 1868 in
Gullnasharragh, Killarga (sec); registered in District
of Dromahair, Union of Manorhamilton, of Thomas Horan
and Anne Feehely. Emigrated to US after droppping
sister (name unknown) in Canada in May 1891. A grand-
uncle, James Horan, lived in Knockacullion, Towneylea
P.O., just outside of Drumkeerin, Cty. Leitrim, in 1949.

Grandmother Elizabeth Feeney, born June 1873 in
Killargue (same as Killarga??) and emigrated to US in
May 1893. Family lore is both born in same town. When
and where maried is unknown.
I was told a Granduncle & son of John Horan
(Thomas - born in US & brother of my mother Winifred
Monica Horan) served in US Army in WWI, but
granduncle returned to Ireland after WWI. I believe
James Horan mentioned above, is that individual.

John Horan worked for City of NY and lived on West
Side in Alderman George Washington Plunkitt, a power
in Tammany Hall, and possible source of John Horan's
job with NYC. Also lived in Brooklyn in 20's and
until death in 1939. Possibly lived in Staten Island
as well.

Great-granduncle Patrick Feeney & 2nd cousin Frances
Feeney in 1949 lived in Taconalconey (Sp?), Towneylea
P.O., Drumkeerin, County Leitrim.

Any information would be appreciated.

Hi! Some of my ancestors came from County Leitrim. John Feeheley (variant spellings), son of Thomas and Winnifred Banks, and his wife Ann (nee Dolan, of Sligo) emigrated with their children to Toronto, Canada around 1870.
Is it possible we are distantly related?

Mike

My great grandfather, Edward Horan, b. 1835, emigrated to San Francisco in 1965. Married Mary Desmond in 1875 and had at least 8 children.
His parents were Patrick Horan and Ellen Claffey.

Hi obit in 1902 said he was born in Westmeath, County Cork, which of course isn't possible.

Any ideas on further places I can look to find more?

Thanks
