Since I last posted I have further data on my ancestor Patrick REGAN. I have also changed my email address. Patrick Regan was born Nov. 16,1865, in Cloonloo, Co Sligo, but the civil and church documents are recorded in Boyle, Co. Roscommon. It is my understanding that Cloonloo is only a few short miles from Boyle. Patrick's parents were Edward C. REGAN, b Nov. 6, 1835 in Boyle? son of John and Mary (Laydon) REGAN, and Mary (Murray/Murry) REGAN. This family emigrated in 1865. Family lore says that "two young men" accopanied Edward, Mary and Patrick. Is there a possibility that these 'young men' were Edward's son's by a previous marriage. Patrick also had one sister named Mary Regan and she has given several variations of her age...is it possible she was older than Patrick and also accomapanied the family? If anyone can connect to this family I would love to hear from you. Margaret Bence Davis

Margaret,

Check out the Gurteen Graveyard inscriptions on www.interment.net, there is a Regan burial recorded there. Gurteen is in Southern Sligo, near Clonloo.
Mary.
