Did you check the handwritten 'late registrations' at the back of the index books? Was the marriage Catholic or Protestant? They are recorded in separate index books at the GRO. Hi Anne The Irish Times web site www.ireland.com has a genealogy section which includes the distribution of surnames throughout Ireland i.e. where particular surnames were most commonly found. It might be worth a look. A lot of the names you mentioned sound more English than Irish, or at least Anglo...
