To Joseph Patrick Degnan III: I am the daugter of James Degnan and the neice of Martin Leo Degnan who were the sons of Martin Degnan and Margaret Meehan of Wilkes Barre, Pa. Martin may have been 2nd generation American, but Margaret Meehan was the daughter of Patrick and Ann Meehan from Ireland but they immigrated to Scotland during the potato famine. The family immigrated to the US and settled in Wilkes Barre, Pa. Margaret had a sister, Anna Gallagher who had four children, no grandchildren, and they all lived in NY><br>
