Murray-Rourke

Post by Sharon Reck »

John Murray was born in Co. Leitrim about 1827; married Mary Rourke about 1840. Their children, born in Co. Leitrim, were James (b. abt.1844); Bridget (abt. 1847); Maria (abt. 1849); and Patrick Joseph (abt. 1851). The family then left for Wakefield, England, where 4 more children were born: Allice (b. 6 Mar 1853); John (1 Jul 1855); Charles (Mar 1860); and Ellen (Jun 1862). Bridget married Charles McTiernan in Wakefield, 4 Sep 1865; Patrick married Mary J. Cavanaugh, 11 Aug 1879; and John Sr. married 2) Elizabeth Roberts, 17 Apr 1875. John Murray Jr. and Patrick Murray moved to Chicago about 1888. Would like to hear from anyone working on this family...Sharon

They were from the Drumkeerin area.
