: : Looking for information on Quinn's of Ballaghaderreen CoRoscommon Ca 1830<p>Recently, my sister sent me a copy of a study on a Quinn family that she had received<br>from a lady in Texas about 25 years ago.The study shows Denis Quinn marrried to Mary <br>Franey (Freney, Freeny) in Ballinglough, Kiltulough Parish Feb. 23, 1845. My map shows <br>Ballinlough about ten miles south of Ballaghaderreen. Brian de Breffney reported that <br>Quinn was the eight most common name in Roscommon, so a tie in may not be possible. <br>Their children were listed as Bridget, b. April 22, 1849; Martin, b. Oct. 29, 1852;<br>Pat, b. March 25, 1856; Dennis, b. Nov. 8, 1857; Honour, b. March 18, 1860; and Mary,<br>b. May 4, 1862. The report indicates that the family moved to Birmingham, England five<br>years after Dennis was born. Mary Franey Quinn was my g.-grandmother, and she died in <br>Austin, TX in 1910. In the 1900 U.S. census, she said that she was 70 years old, born in<br>Ireland in 1830. The marriage record indicates that she was 15 when married? She was living <br>with her son Dennis, who reported that he was born in England. Mary, my grandmother, was <br>listed in family records as born in 1867, not 1862. In the near future, I will attempt to<br>study the records from Roscommon to see if I can sort things out. In the meantime, if anyone<br>can help, it will be appreciated very much. Regards, Pat <p>
