Researching the origins of the name DALEFIELD here in NZ. as one of our First Settlers named the area, and his wife Winifred nee Conboy came from Castlerea, and married Richard Fairbrother. And I believe that there is an area around her home town called Dalefield, would love feed back on this name, and anything on Conboy, and her mothers maiden name was Hannaley. Thomas Conboy and Honor nee Hannaley. Did Winifred leave any brothers and sisters behind when she sailed for New Zealand? I am researching my local Cemetery at Clareville. Carterton.http://www.geocities.com/carterton_historical_society/ Perhaps there are other families in Eire who have ancestors buried over here, as we had a lot of families arriving here in mid 1800s from Ireland, after the Potato Famine.Fairbrother was stationed at Castlerea, perhaps here, someone could help me with this, he was in the army, and also served in India and China. Thank you. Adele.Sec
of Carterton Historical Society and ex Londoner!Ps any Pentony's!!

I have Leitrim ancestors, but your name "Pentony" stood out to me. My Leitrim cousin is married to a Pentony. They live in New Jersey, U. S. A.

"Hannaley" was a common mis-pronunciation of the former. There are many Conboy's in that Area Code and about 40 Pentony in the country.
Any Beirne/O'Beirne in your records?
