Tuohy-Twohy

Post by Bonnie Jones »

MY Grandfather Michael Martin Tuohy-born in USA in 1868. His father born in Ireland-Cock or Roscommon named Martin and his wife was Mary. They died in the USA in the Washington DC area. Have picture with Michael Martin with brother Thomas, Hugh, John, Joseph and sisters Kate and maybe a Mary or Mamie called Daisey. Daisey married a Logan Michael Martin died a young man of only 35--in his belonging kept in a trunk by my Grandmother Margaret Tuohy was large leather wallet with gold engraving M.J. Twohy. Does any of this ring a bell with anyone. Also does the place Gilgal mean anything. Micahael Martin owned a store in DC on 11th Street S.E.. He register to vote on Oct 31 1904 or 1909 for the first time in Capitol Heights. He died from TB in 1911 when his only daughter Margaret was only 9 years old. This has been a dead end line for me. Hope some one can help. One more hint is that we have a Dr. John Tuohy and also a Mary Adrian formerly Catherine Burke that fits in the family somehow. My e- mail is RJONES9 @ec.rr.com<br>
