I am in the early stages of planning a trip to Roscommon. My ancestors lived in Ballycreggan, Kiltoom Parish - surnames include (O)Brien, Lennon, and Monaghan. Is anyone familiar with the Ballycreggan area? Any advice about where to stay and places to see? Many thanks.

Many thanks.<p>I suggest you could stay in the town of Athlone Co Westmeath which borders on Co Roscommon and has very good accommodation, a thriving town with boating,golfing and plenty of sightseing. Ballycreggan is only a few miles from Athlone.
