WHilst searching for my ancestors in Aughavas I have to date compiled a list of births (some marriages and deaths) for this parish from May 1845 to February 1860. Contact me either through this site or by e-mail.<p>: Jim Irvine<p>: Most common names - Rorke(Rourke) Reilly Kiernan Galogly McCabe<p>I would be most gratefuly if you would check your registers for the following:(My private email is annbrownell@hotmail.com)<br>1. Thomas O'Rorke/Rourke/Rorke (mason by trade) and believed to be born about 1810. This Thomas O'Rorke was married to Ann Keefe probably in her parish church around 1835. The names given are a fact but the dates are guess work.<br>2. The birth of a son called James Rorke around 1844-46 whom I believe was one of several sons perhaps No 6. <br>3. Oral history tells us that James left at aged around 20 years in 1864 to marry Mary Early in Edinburgh Scotland in 1865.He was surposed to have been the last to leave after the death of his parents who are rumoured to have been buried at Ballinmeena a small parish near Boyle.<br>4. This family was Gallic speaking and spoke nor wrote any English.<br>Some of the children reported to be elder sons (Patrick & John) went to America and resided in 1900 in Phildelphia. all of the other children went to Edinburgh. some other family names were Gilhooly, Wynn, Early, Eardly and Keefe. The Early's came from the Kilronan parish and I have their birth dates etc.<br>Thank you for your kind offer I will be most grateful for your info<br>Cheers ann
