EARLY/ McLAUGHLIN

Post by Pam Tessier »

My Irish ancestors, Patrick EARLY Aand his wife, Bridget McLAUGHLIN, came to Canada about 1830. There are no records to indicate which area of Ireland they came from or where they were married. Early ships'records are non-existent for that time period. A search of Ancestry.com has provided a record of a marriage that may have a clue. If anyone has access to the records of the Diocese of Tuam I would appreciate a look-up to determine, if pocssible, the name of the spouse. Margaret McLaughlin married 27 March 1825, in Dunmore Deanery, County Galway, Ireland a Patt ???, surname not recorded. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Their witnesses were both Earlys. I cannot make out the first name of the man but the other name appears to be Patricia Early. The main Parish is Kilronan in the County of Roscommon.
My maternal grandmother was a McLoughlin from the townland of Greaghnafarna in the area known as Arigna. Both of my parents were born in this area and they had friends with the name Early. Hopefully, this will help you. If you need further help let me know
