There are at least three James McPaddens in the 1901 census who are close enough in age to be your James. One of them is the brother of an Edward from Derrindangan townland who seems to be two distinct people; one who immigrated to the U.S. and the other who went to Scotland with my great aunt Mary Kate Flynn. I notice that your name is Ed... what else can you tell us about where your grandfather ended up and any other clues ?
Sharon
