Shanley family

I'm looking for information Re: Surname: Shanley - Leitrim County.<p>My greatgrandmother: Bridget or Beatrice Shanley (only known as Bea).<p>Came to America between 1903 and 1911. Left from Cobh. Perhaps entered Phila.<p>Married John O"Donnell in 1912(?).<p>If anyone can give me tips to continue my search I'd be grateful.<p>P.S. Is there a way to search and "actually" get records on-line?<p>I've been very unsucessful trying.<p>Much thanks!!<p>Juli

You might try the 1920 US Census if you know where they resided in the US at the time of the census (1919). I also found that collecting all the birth, marriage death, etc. certificates can give you some information. Find a good resource library and check with your local Church of Latter Day Saints for resources both here and in Ireland they might have,

For a little <br>bit we thought I was marrying a relative but different<br>Shanleys. Contact Fr. Joseph O'Donnell at St. John's<br>University just outside New York City. He's retired<br>now but still living there last I knew. Tell him <br>you were in contact with me, John Shanley. My mother-in-<br>law is Rosemary Croke (nee O'Donnell). My wife is<br>Janet. Hi Juli, <p>My father grew up in Gortlettragh Parish in Leitrim with<br>with a Shanley family. A number of them came<br>to the States, but I still think a <br>few are still there.. You might want to check out the <br>Leitrim Geneology Center for some assistance with your<br>search. They are pretty helpful.<p>PS I didn't have much luck online either.<p><p><br>

I'm a Shanley in Chicago.<br>My grandfather Michael came to the Bronx <br>early in the century and opened a grocery<br>with Frank Grogan.<br>Mike had a brother James but didn't speak of him.<br>Mike marched proudly with the Leitrim men every<br>March down 5th Ave.<br>He married Alice Drummond from the north who had a <br>sister Brigid who died a spinster.<br>If any of this sounds familiar contact me at my mother's<br>email address.<p>thank you.<p>Michael
