looking for Micheal Gilmartin ex.Sligo

Post by Monica McLean »

Looking for information on Gilmartin family - only know Micheal ran away to England about 1867? aged 14 and settled in eventually in Sunderland, Co Durham. His fathers name was John, brother also John who died around 1930s? and Micheal returned to Ireland and passed on family "farm" to cousins called O'Connors. There were also 2 sisters who emigrated to New York and may have become teachers and were still alive in th 1930s.. <p>Hope this rings some bells with someone. We are going to Sligo in April but have nothing really to go on. Any help will be appreciated.
