Dear Mulvey Family Researchers:

I am a grandson of two Irish immigrants. My grandfather, Patrick James Mulvey was the son of James Mulvey (1844-1895) and Catherine Mulvey (1845-1927). Catherine's surname was Mulvey. As far as my father told me, they were from Carrick on Shannon in County Leitrim. My father's cousin James Mulvey also had a farm in County Leitrim that raised bulls and was quite well known in the 1960's.

Patrick and Catherine had the following children:

Anne Mulvey (Shanley) (1868-1963)
Michael Mulvey (1866-1927)
Ellen Mulvey (Gibbons) (1863-1913)
Mary Mulvey (Moffet) (1861-1939)
Frank Mulvey (1878-1941)
John Mulvey (1867-1920)
James Mulvey (1885-1969)
Patrick Mulvey (1886-1945)**

* * Patrick was my grandfather and was a blacksmith in Ireland and had a bicycle repair business for a while around the turn of the century in Carrick on Shannon. Four other children were born to the couple but died in infancy and records were destroyed.

I have a family tree that was developed by diseased relatives, that I could fax you, if you desire. Also, if you have information related to our Mulvey family (maybe yourself?), I would appreciate it.

Our branch of the family (2nd & 3rd generation) is centered in San Diego, California and the New York City metro area. Those of us in California were originally from NYC and came west since the late 70's.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Sincerely,

Patrick J.
