BROWNLEE, in Manorhamilton, Leitrim

Post by Wendy Vickers »

My ancestors came from Co. Fermanagh to Canada in 1831. My g.g.grandmother Mary Rutledge married James Brownlee in 1827 in her Kinawley Parish, Co. Ferm. (close to Enniskillen) Recently I found the following obituary for this James Brownlee in Ontario's Christian Guardian 1873-1880.
"James Brownlee was born Co. Cavan in 1800 and was appointed class leader at age 17 on his native Manor Hamilton Ct. In 1831 he came to Canada with his wife and family. He died Feb. 9, 1879."
Question -
Can anyone tell me if the above Manor Hamilton Ct. could be the same Manorhamilton in Co. Leitrim which is situated approx. 26 miles west of Enniskillen?
Are there any other Manorhamiltons?
Can anyone suggest which records I could search to try to prove above?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
