My grandfather, Michael Kelly and some of his sibblings came to Providence from Curraghroe, near Strokestown, in the late 1800's and very early 1900's. He and several of his friends worked in the Hanley Brewing Co. in Providence, RI. It closed down in the late 1950's. I was wondering if anyone has any information on the Hanley's who ran the brewery. It employed many men and their sons who came here from Ireland, and I would guess that many were from the Roscommon area. Maureen
Maureen
Maureen,
You can get some information on the Hanley family from the web site of the Little Rhody bottle club under "Research". The Rhode Isalnd Historical Society, which also has a web site, would be the most likely place to find archival information. Nancy K. Cassidy
