Hello,
I'm researching my gr-gr-grandfather, Thomas Mullaney. He was from Roscommon, and married a Mary Tivnan. That's all I have on them.
Their son, Michael J. Mullaney (1845-1923), came to the States around the late 1860s, settled in Worcester, Massachusetts. He married a Bridget Dowd, from Sligo, in Worcester in 1872.
I know it's tough to track down further information on relatives when the exact areas of Roscommon or Sligo are unknown. Any help is appreciated.
Best,
Paul

Below are the Thomas Mullany records from the Griffiths Valuation circa 1855. (There were no Thomas Mullaney records). One of the records below could be for your great-great-grandfather. The location represents the townland.

Thomas and Mary Mullaney
Thanks Roger,
According to a Mullaney researcher on Ardcarn, it doesn't look like our Thomas came from that parish.
That narrows it a bit to Killukin or Kilbride parishes, which is very helpful.
Any information on a Thomas and Mary Mullaney from either of these parishes would be a big lead.
Best,
Paul

Hello Paul,
My great grandmother's sister, Brigid Carroll married a John Tivnan in 1885 at the Boyle Parish (RC). Brigid was born in Garrow, Boyle. John's place of birth is not known but he was born 1854, son of Martin and Elizabeth (Kelly) Tivnan. John and Brigid's older children were born in Drumshambo, Co. Leitrim. They later moved to Doon, Co. Roscommon. Hope this helps.
