Hi.
I am looking for any info about Catherine Hagan born 13/8/1792 her parents were John Croghan and Kate Brennan. Catherine married Thomas Hagan who's profession was a Joiner.
On the English 1881 census Catherine has stated her origins as Kilglass. This information was given to me by Nazereth House were Catherine died in 1887 so am not sure about the reliability of dates etc. I know Catherine had a son James Hagan who married Rose Malahan and a daughter Mary who married Francis Gallagher any info would be most gratefully received Thank you.

Hi Ed
Thank you so much for your reply I have already seen the 1881 census and although on the 1881 census it says Catherine is only 79 I got her death certificate and that says she was 95 when she died which was in 1887. also the information from the Nazereth house nuns said she was born in 1792 so I am very confused. The gallahans (found the spelling of that numerous ways) are definetly related Mary Gallahan was formerly Hagan I purchased one of her childrens birth certificates and got that info. and have now come to a full stop because all records which would help with the Hagans are before 1864. Although Catherine said she was from Kilglass on the 1871 census her son James said he was from Tyrone on every other census they just put Ireland. I have paid a researcher and they have come up with nothing on any of them. Once again many thanks foor your reply. Jo

Josephine,
Your surnames are certainly found in Kilglass Parish. Perhaps the son traveled to Tyrone for work. The Ballykilcline website may also have information of interest for you. It is possible that your family had Ballykilcline connections.
