I am fairly new to this and I am stuck on our Kaney brothers. What I have is Patrick Henry Kaney b. June 1811, James Michael Kaney b. 1810-1812, and Joseph b. abt 1818. They are suppose to be from Leitrim County although I do see a lot in Roscommon as well. Their immigration is listed as between 1830-1846. They settled in Bear Creek, Sauk County, Wisconsin.
I have extensive records from the U.S. side which go into other Irish names such as Mears, Loftus, Welch, Walsh and Quinn. Any help would be greatly appreciated. My information is available to assist anyone else as well.

Was there something in particular in Sauk County that would have drawn these men there ?
Most folks immigrated to places where others from their area (including relatives) had already gone. Do you have names for other Irish settlers in Bear Creek at this time ? Are the names specific to County Leitrim ? These other folks could give you a direction in which to search.
