1840-1890 Parish records for Innismagrath, Drumkeeran

Hi all,

quick question...does anybody know if the parish records for Innismagrath, Drumkeeran,Leitrim years 1840-1890 can be viewed. I have an acquaintance who tried to view them some years ago, but found they were missing. Is this still the case??

Sassy,
I was hoping that someone with better information would answer your question, but since no one has, I will share what I know.
I have read that these records were lost, fairly recently like the 1940s. If they had re-surfaced we would all be jumping for joy but I'm afraid that that is not the case.

Thank you so much for replying. It is very much a quandary, I thought they had gone missing around the time of the famine, I was not aware of the 1940's date.

It is an awful shame as I have had contact from someone in Ohio who I believe could very well be related to a strand of my family, however due to the lack of information, we may never know.

I have to say though, i'm glad i registered on this site, as so far it has been a voyage of discovery!
