HI James
I found Paul Bohan & Catherine McCabe's marriage record. They were married on 6th Feb 1896 and Catherine was from Gubbs, Cloone. There were no ages given only that they were over 21. The witnesses on the day were Patrick Monaghan & Anne McCabe. Catherine's father's name was Patrick McCabe..
Bye for now

When you say go back another generation do you mean my great-grandfather Francis Bohan.
Here is some of the information I sent previouslyFrancis (great-grandfather)
Francis & John Bohan moved from Killaveha, Cloone before the famine to Aughavas & bought 31 acres of land.
Francis built his house in the valley of the land that he bought with John. He married Anne Maguire,Sonnamore, Cloone
They had 7 children named
.
Mary Ellen b.15/9/1846

Sally (Sarah) b. 19/12/1852
Catherine b. 14/12/1855

Paul b. unknown, he may have been born in 1865 as he gave his age on 1901 census as 35 but this is out of sequence with the other Bdays.

She never married, she emigrated to the US to work for her uncle Paul in PA. She helped to rear his children. She returned to live with her brother Paul in Killyfea in the 1890's ?. She lived out her days there until her death in 1932. She had gone blind before her death. Her brother Paul lost his wife in 1910 at the age of 39, my father was the youngest at 1yr old. Good work on your family, Ann. But I would suggest that they did not buy the land at Killyfea before the famine. In Griffith's Valuation, 10 years after the famine, they are still shown as tenants.
You might find it interesting, if you haven't already done so, to contact the irish Valuation Office to get details of the land-holders from 1850s to the early 20th century.
