In most, if not all cases, this meant the Established Church; the Church of Ireland.<p>Also: There are glebes all over the world, pretty well where ever the British set foot.<br>I live in The Glebe, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This was a glebe established as a clergy reserve of just under 200 acres in 1837 to support the local Presbyterian church. Most of the glebes in Ontario went to support Anglican churches.<p>
