Hevican

County: Roscommon
Civil Parish: Kilbride
Townland:
Related Surname Info: My Great x4 grandparents were Peter (Petri) Hevican born 1785 Kilbride, Roscommon and Maria Hevican born McDermott c1800. Peter and Maria were my great x3 grandfather's parents (Thomas Havican born 1838). I have no date when or where Maria passed away but Peter passed away in 1861 in Roscommon. Peter according to the census's moved around Roscommon after the famine but I cannot find where he and Maria were buried. If anyone as any helpful advice on possibly locating their burial places please do get in touch. Also if anyone could possibly explain why Peter Hevican gave my Grandfather Thomas the surname Havican it would be very much appreciated. I believe Thomas was their first and eldest child.
Kind regards,
Mark Greenhalgh.
