Connaught Rangers

Post by Peter Power-Hynes »

I am an amatuer researcher and coillector of memorabilia connected with The 88th. & 94th. Regiments - The Connaught Rangers, 1793-1922. This includes the Militia Battalions, Roscommon Militia etc. I am willing to provide any information/guidance I can f.o.c. to any similar enthusiast or family researcher.
If you know of any original medals , papers, regimental journals (The Ranger) , badges etc. available for sale. I would be pleased to hear from you.

(The Ranger) , badges etc. available for sale. I would be pleased to hear from you.

I would like to track down my mother's uncle Tom (Nock)Carroll. He was born Thomas Nock but (according to verval family history) in order to get into the Connaught Rangers he had to use his Mother's maiden name which was Carroll. He was born in England of an English father and an Irish mother. He spent years in India with the regiment and was a Major when he retired. Any ideas on how I can find out more about him? Any information would be appreciated. Sioban
