Re: McCormack surname.
My ancestors were from a very small village outside of Strokestown,
County Roscommon called Corboghil (cor-BO-ull).
I recently visited the area and have gathered much
information, as well as the existing documents I
already had, regarding several "McCormicks/McCormacks"
in the immediate area. It would be a mistake, of course,
to assume that all of these families are directly
related, but I will be more than happy to share this
information with you. Incidentally, my family line (or ]
at least one branch of it), left the area and immigrated to
Bolton, England between 1866 and 1871. They came to the
US and settled in Albany, New York circa 1880. Please let me
me know if I can be of any assistance. I'm more than happy
to do it!
