His wife was Katherine Cusick Scalley b. abt. 1845 in Ireland and d. 1927 in Copake, Ny. It is likely the couple were newly weds in 1865 as they had no children. The following year their first child Edward Joseph was born, followed by John, Thomas and Mary Ellen called Nellie. Edward Joseph sometimes called Joe was a conductor for the railroad. He and Maria Dooley had a son John Francis Scalley b. abt 1887-1895. The last reference I can find on John Francis was in 1927 when he was living in Springfield Ma and working as a Genealogy clerk. He and his wife Lucille Rogers separated and that is where the trail ends. Family stories indicate that he went on to marry and have another family. Many of the family remained in Columbia County NY which is abt. 80 miles from NYC..so they may of arrived via NYC. Any info you might be able to share would be appreciated. One of the problems I have had is the variations in surname spellings, Scully, Scalley, Scally, and of course O'Scally. I am sending this e-mail via snet but I have also listed my aol address. Thanks
