My paternal aunt, Rose Keany, from Glenfane, married a McLoughlin but I am not sure whether she married him after knowing him in Ireland or in America.
: Anyone know any McLoughlins in Glenfarne. Co. Leitrim

A John McLoughlin was listed in the 1840 census for Lockport, may have been a relative. Anyone know where this family is from in Co. Lietrum? May have been born 10 June 1800,she born circa 1801.
My great-grandmother was from Leitrim and her name was Mary Ann Loughlin. She had two sisters, Margaret and Rose. They came over in the 1880's or 1890's. I've been told by my grandmother that one branch of the family changed their name to O'Loughlin when they came over because they "thought it sounded fancy".
My father, Edward McLoughlin from Moneen, Co. Cavan used to talk about Glenfarne and the Dolans. I'm not sure of the connection, but there were plenty of McLoughlins in Moneen and Dowra, Co. Cavan. Let me know if you'd like further info.
