There were four McGreevy families identified in a listing made in 1749, and there is ample earlier evidence of McGreevy's in that area as early as the 1100's. Tradition has it that a McGreevy stole the horses of St. Patrick and hence barred descendants from becoming priests. False tradition as there are at least two priests I know of.<p>To learn more, let me know if you would like a family history done by a cousin Michael.
