Rooney - trying to find my roots!

Post by Locke Rooney »

My Great-Great Grandfather was Girard Rooney. He left County Sligo in the late 1840's or early to mid 1850's. He settled in the United States in the State of Pennsylvania and lived in Ohio in his later years. I would appreciate any Rooney's in Ireland who might have information. I believe in a free and UNITED Ireland and am active in the U.S. in supporting such views.

I grew up in Ohio and several of my relatives still reside in Hancock and Putnam county Ohio. Curious to find out if we are relatives.
