Re: Lavin family, Fairymount, Roscommon
I am looking for any information on my great-great grandparents. Thomas and Catherine Kane Lavin. Thomas was b. approx. 1837. The only information I have on his mother is that her first name is Bridget. They( Thomas and Catherine) had 6 children. Thomas came to the U.S. in 1854 and settled in Cumberland MD between 1871 and 1875. Any information would be helpful.
: :
: : I am trying to find any information on the Lavins who
: : lived in Fairymount, Co. Roscommon. Re: Lavin family, Fairymount, Roscommon
My g-grand uncle, John Hanley married a Bessie Lavin before coming to the states from Roscommon in 1865. They had no children, but other members of her family are buried in the family plot. The names on the stones are: Alice Lavin 1807-1906; Timothy Lavin 1844-1886; Catherine Lavin 1834-1910 and Catherine Lavin 1809-1875. There are other stones adjacent that lack a surname: Bridget, Mary, Edward and Malachi.
Because of the dates, I am assuming that the older Catherine and Alice are the mother and /or aunt of Bessie. Until I can do further research at the cemetary office, the connections are unknown. Hope this helps.
:
: I am trying to find any information on the Lavins who
: lived in Fairymount, Co.
