Ballinameen also is not far from Elphin and not far from Tartan, Lisphilip, Estersnow, etc.
I am interested in the Kenny name on your list. My great great grandmother was Bridget Kenny, daughter of Michael. She emigrated in 1846 and married John Burns (O'Beirne) in America. Let me know if that is worth exploring. Mary Lee Dunn

Mary Lee Dunn
Sorry Mary Lee
The Margret Kenny who married Thomas Mulrenan had
one son only who died early and then Margret died shortly thereafter thus couldn't possably be same as your GGGM.
All my current info is based on research done by my wife's cousin, a catholic priest from Brooklyn, NY who went to Ireland a number of years ago(being a priest he had easy access to the parish records there). That's why I trying to verify my current info and get hard copy of everything I can.
That's one reason I need parish names for these areas - to do lookups on FHC microfilms.
Ballinameen doesn't show in original Griffiths as a townland or placename etc.
Sorry I couldn't help you further.
Gus

Gus:
Looked at your posting this week and saw a shot in the dark. Likewise Mulrennans are in the closet and I have a birth for Thomas son of Luke Mulrennan and Margaret Kenny on the 26th of April 1817........Godfather listed as Thady Kenny....no godmother listed....This is in the Catholic Church at Loughglynn....names seem to be quite coincidental

The Parish Priest is Fr. Francis McGauran, PP, Ballinameen, Boyle, Co. Roscommon. Be aware that PP's are very busy people. There are 3 or 4 Beirne's in Ballinameen in the phonebook. The old parish was, I THINK, Kilcorkey but Ballinameen as a placename seems to be a modern invention just as Mantua is.
