McDonoughs of Co. Sligo

Post by Father Richard MacDonough »

I would be interested to hear from any McDonaghs or descendants of McDonaghs from Co. Sligo. My great-grandfather, Frank McDonough (various spellings) was born there c. 1836, the son of Peter McDonagh and Ann (McDonagh) McDonagh. Apparently, they lived in Carroward, in Tireragh Barony, near Dromard. Frank (Francis) left and married in Glasgow SCT area in 1856 to Catherine Mullin. She apparently also came from Co. Sligo. He had a brother, James E., who moved to Maine. One Peter-Ann couple apparently fits this description and had 2 recorded sons: Michael (b. 1841) and Patrick (b. 1845) in Carroward. This Peter d. there in 1864.
