<br> I posted some time ago a message about having <p>the surname Laighnase as the maiden name of my<p>great-great-grandmother. I've recently seen eveidence<p>that the spelling I had was from poor penmanship.<p>Other family documents show the last name of Loughnan<p>as being the witness to several events, most <p>particularly a wedding and a baptism. Would anyone <p>know if Loughnan is common in Roscommon and if<p>there might still be Loughnans in Southern Roscommon?<p>Any input is appreciated.<p><br> Peter Greene<p> De Nobis Fabula Narratur

In a way that can be a very big plus when you start your search<br>of records. Anyway, here is what the index has to say about Loughnan.<p><table border=1><tr align="center"><th>BARONY</th><th>NUMBER OF OCCURRENCES</th></tr><tr align="center"><th>Boyle</th><th>3</th></tr><tr align="center"><th>Athlone</th><th>1</th></tr><tr align="center"><th>Moycarn</th><th>3</th></tr></table><p>Unfortunately, none of these areas have found their way into the<br>L-R Griffiths database yet.<p>Ed Finn<br>efinn@thecore.com<br>ICQ# 7780675<br></b>
