Re: Moran family tree
I am researching this surname on my family tree. My line is from Ballykilcline, Kilglas parish, Co. Roscommon with John, born 1791 and his wife Winifred. They left the Townland in 1847 with two sons Francis and John and a daughter Catherine (my GG grandmother.Catherine married James McDermott (also of Ballykilcline) in Ohio. Do you have any of the names on your trees??

Re: Moran family tree
Have bot gone back that far yet. Just beginning. What I do know is that Frank was born in Mohill, county Leitrim about 1881 and married Annie Jane McKeon in Leitrim. They came to US about 1925. I think Frank had a brother James and a brother Michael. You know any more about this? Thanks.

Please save the information (as I have regarding yours) and contact if your records get back to the 1840's and Co. Roscommon by chance.
Re: Moran, Frank
I believe the Moran family you mention were our neighbors in the Mohill area. They are between Mohill and Eslin Bridge in a place called Drumraughil. There are still many there; the last two (that I personally knew) w ere James and Joe. James passed away about 15 years ago, and Joe about five years ago. Joe married Mary Doyle and had four children; the youngest now probably 17 and the oldest 27. There are two other Moran families in that same area. Records probably available through St. Patrick's Church, Mohill.

She was the daughter of John O'Rourke of Aughavas and Brigid (Kilkenny) O'Rourke. Her birthdate was in the late 1850's. They lived in Drumnamore and raised at least two daughters and I suspect other children. The daughters were Brigid and Mary. I am told that their descendants still live in the area. If you think there is a connection please contact me. (My great grandmother, Catherine Kilkenny, was the sister of Brigid Kilkenny.)
