I have an 1895 certification of an 1872 baptismal record for Michael COONEY from the Catholic parish of Aughrim. The letterhead states: "Aughrim, Dromsna" Given the age of this document, it could also be Drumsna. I thought perhaps this was a townland, but I tried every variation of this name in the Roscommon townland database, and I found nothing. Could it be the name of the Church? Any information would be most appreciated. Thank you.
Please email me at KEBittner@aol.com

Re: Dromsna or Drumsna
Drumsna is actually a half-parish of Annaduff in Co.Leitrim. It is situated right beside the parish of Kilmore also.
The irish is droim ar snamh, or water ridge. It is a very prominent tourist village, with it's own marina. It ha been recently bypassed along with Jamestown, a neighbouring village.
