Seeking contact with my Giblin ancestors, the following is as far back as I have got and would dearly like help to continue. In the 1881 English census in Birmingham, most of the giblins came from Ireland and of the ones who nominated which county most said Rosscommon so I am hoping mine are from this area.
18871 census schedule No. 105 Shorthead road Erdington Warwickshire
(Erdington is now a suburb of Birmingham.)
Michael Giblin head m 35 ag. Lab born ireland
Margaret " wife m 33 "
Bridget " dau u 15 "
Michael " son u 13 lab " (my ggf )
Mary " dau u 9 "
Thomas " son u born warwickshire Aston
Mark Donnely boarder m 35 "
Mary Giblin boarder m 30 "
There is no mention of where in Ireland they came from, from the above I would assume that they moved to England between 1863 and 1870. Mary senior may have been the sister of Michael senior.
By 1878 Michael junior had moved to Aston Birmingham where he married my ggm.
Can any one please advise on how I can track down either the birth cert. Or marriage cert. For Michael Giblin born about 1836 Ireland My eternal thanks in anticipation. Albert Clayton in Sydney Australia
