My great-great-great grandmother was Catherine Flanagan who married Edward Morris. They raised their children in Frenchpark, Roscommon in the townland of Errit. I have no information on Catherine Flanagan other than her name. Edward and Catherine would have been married in the late 1850's with at least 5 daughters born. On 2 of the children's baptismal records are sponsers which were Eleanor Flanagan and Catherine Flanagan. At least one of the children were baptised in Loughglynn Roman Catholic Parish. I don't know if this will help but am desperatly trying to find a connection. I hope something sounds familiar to you. Leah Shearin

My grandmother, Elizabeth Marie Flanagan was the daughter of Malachy Flanagan and Sarah McDonald and was born around 1900. They lived in Roscommon town, Roscommon. Sarah and Malachy had
12 children who were, in no particular order: Mary, Margaret, Delia, Sarah, Malachy (the oldest), Thomas, Edward, Patrick (the youngest), Nicholas, John and Mike (and of course Elizabeth, my grandmother). I know Malachy Jr. supposedly was an excellent soccer player and played competatively but died tragically in a practice game. Thomas came to the US but returned to Ireland and may have married a woman named Delia - I don't think they had children. My mother tells me that the children got together at one point and pooled their money and dedicated a stained glass window(s) to their mother in their church - I do not know the name of the church.
My grandmother came to the US, was married in 1925 and had 4 children. She lived in Bridgeport, CT where she raised her children and ultimately passed away in 1976.
Hope this helps. If it rings any bells please let me know. I am currently researching the Flanagans and if this is relevent to you I will keep you advised.
Beth
Mary, Delia, Margaret, Sarah, Nicholas, John
and Mike all came to the US and led their lives.
: I AM TRYING TO LOCATE SOME FLANAGAN'S FROM ROSCOMMON

It is a great resource with lots of Flanagan's listed.
I have a Patrick Flanagan, b. 1844 Breanamore, Tibohine, Roscommon and a Catherine McNeil Flanagan, b. 1847 Attiballa, Elphin, Roscommon. Patrick was a tailor by trade. They married about 1864, lived Frenchpark, and had the following children: Mary, Edward (Ned), John, Bridget, Ellie, Patrick, Joseph, James, Margaret, and Kate. Mary and Ellie went to Phila., PA. One son, possibly James, went to Los Angeles or San Diego, CA and was a realtor.

In 1892, a James Flanagan married my gggrandfather¹s niece, Ellen Featherstone, there. James, born about 1866 in RI, was the son of James and Margaret Flanagan.
