I'm looking for information on the James Cox described below. This is all the information I have to go on so far. Any leads would be appreciated. I SEE THAT A JOHN AND JAMES COX WERE REPORTED IN THE GRIFFITHS DISPLAY IN PARISH ESTERSNOW, TOWNLAND KNOCKROE ON PROPERTY LEASED FROM VISCOUNT LORTON. ANY INFORMATION WHICH MIGHT SHED LIGHT ON THIS DATA WOULD ALSO BE APPRECIATED.<p>Thanks, <p>Bob Cox<p>JAMES COX<p> James Cox was a farmer living in County Roscommon, Ireland in the early and middle years of the nineteenth century.<p>It is not known in exactly what part of the county he resided. His wife<p>was Hannah Shields.<p> It is not known who their parents were, but it is believed that the family<p><p>had Scottish forbearers. The couple had five sons, four of whom emigrated around the middle of the century at the time of the potato famine in Ireland. The names of the sons are as follows:<p><p> Robert Went to Australia<p> John Stayed in Ireland<p> Benjamin (1820 -1876) Went to Massachusetts<p> William (1822 -1899)<p> Alexander P. (1840 -1904)
