My mother Mary Fallon was born in Roscommon in 1912. Her father was John Fallon from Sligo, her mother was Ellie King from Roscommon town. The Kings had a smallholding in Roscommon town and had many children, some of whom emigrated to Canada and the U.S.A. Nora King a sister married in Ellis Island. I travelled to Ireland and visited
Roscommon in the 1970s, and met up with some family, but they all appear to have dispersed now.My mother moved to England with my grandmother in 1920 and settled in Manchester. My great grandmother
left her native home in Roscommon (ANN KING) and lived with her daughter Ellie and my mother in Manchester Trafford Park until she died. She is buried in Moston Cemetry Manchester and lived until she was 82. I believe we are related to family called the Lanes from Manchester also.
Any information would be welcome, Thanks

KING FAMILY ROSCOMMON
Re: KING FAMILY ROSCOMMON
re: King. In enjoyed reading your story. My great grandmother was Anne King. I would guess she was born in the 1850s or 1860s. She lived her married life in Leitrim, but she may have been from Cavan. She married Cornelius Kennedy and had 5-6 surviving children, of which one was my grandfather Cornelius II. Two or three of the children, including Cornelius II, emigrated to America. My family knows nothing of the lives and history of those who stayed behind. Exploring this is the subject of my next visit to Ireland.
