Re: McLoughlin/Geheran
My grandfather, James Laughlin, b.1884 in County Leitrim, emigrated to the US with his brother William around 1906(?). My dad's oldest sister is positive the name was probably originally McLaughlin or McLoughlin. We have no other info at this time about his origins -- could they have been related?
The only other siblings I know of were a twin sister in New York, older twin sisters in Toronto
and an older brother, John in Toronto who served in WWI. I know he had an older brother James. I'm not sur about William. Look under the McLaughlin homepage
for a history of related surnames. The name Laughlin was also an adopted name of the Loughnane line of Connaught.
