Do you know of a hotel in Kiltyclougher run by the McGriskens?

Hi Paul, We were in Kiltycloger in 1997 and it is so small, there's not a hotel there. There is a pub on the main square, called Meehan's, owned by Eugene Meehan. He told us they have B & B accommodations connected to the pub. They had a delicious chicken soup they serve, if you go, you must try it. We were staying in Sligo Town which is only about 45 minutes away by car. It's very rural around Kilty, only small towns. The nearest town is Manorhamilton to the south, about 20 minutes from Kilty. There is a hotel there I believe. Mary L. Casey

They had a relative somewhere in U.S. My dad from Kiltyclogher knew both the owner and his brother who was in "business" here. I think there was another pub in the town at the time.
When we were in Kilty in '97 it was rather deserted, an elderly resident stated it was a town of widows now. There were no obvious signs of B & B's or a hotel so I don't know if there was a McGriskin B & B there then. We were informed of the B & B connected with Meehan's pub by the pub owner himself. Hope this helps. Mary

It is run by the McGriskins and some call it McGriskins. They also run a small store and post office next to it. Meehans pub and B&B was run by different McGriskins until the Meehans bought it. Local people still call it McGriskins. Meehans recently had a fire but they are repairing the damage. There is also a new hostel in town.

Pat and Nora McGriskin are still in business running their small hotel and very good it is too.
It is found on the main street next door to the local shop and post office which they also own and run.
My mothers family come from Kiltyclogher and we still have relatives living there.
It certainly is not a town of widows. Most recent visit by family members from Scotland was January 1999. Place of overnight stay the McGriskins hotel where else!
