My Grandfather, Dominic Tiernan, was born @1878 in
Roscommon, Ireland.
Recently saw the name Dominic Tiernan, Roscommon,
as a convict who was transported to Australia in
1844. Wondering if anyone knows a relationship
between my Grandfather and the unfortunate convict of
1844 as outlined in the National Archives.
I be able to research a connection?

My grandmother was Ellen Tiernan married to Daniel O'Neill of Cattan, near Carrick-onShannon, Co. Leitrim. Died in automobile accident in the 1950's. Any info out there?
