Hope seems to live eternal. My greatgrandfather Patrick Moran married a Mary Cullen. Their first girl was Bridget. Their children, except for John, were born in Arigna, Kilronan parish, Roscommon. John claimed to have been from Leitrim. My grandfather Patrick claimed to have been from Roscommon. Their is no marriage record in Arigna for Patrick and Mary nor is there a baptismal record for John. I suspect Mary Cullen Moran may have gone back to her parents' home to have John and then had him baptized there. There are of course other possibilities. Bridget's birth date is 1832. My grandfather went to Scotland and then came to NYC and then to Jersey City where he raised his family. Maybe there is a connection? Maybe not. Drumshambo and Arigna are close. But so very many Moran's and Cullen's exist in that area! (John married in Scotland - most of his descendants are still there - however his daughter married McPartland and that family came ot Groton, MA, USA.). Good luck on your continuing search. Catherine
