Hi there Ed,
I found Guhain entries in the Parish records of Kilronan. Brian Wynn is very helpful and approachable he may be able to further asssist you. The story is not unlike my family. James left Eire for Scotland in 1864 and lived in Linlithgow, mid Lothian area of Scotland. Another family member lived at Direlton. I believe both brothers worked at the Linlithgow Oil and Shale Mine as did many of the Irish from this area in Eire. this mining company has several mines in this area of Ediburgh and surrounding areas - they produced oil and shale to light the lights.
My Guhain or Wynn connection was Mary Wynne (born in Eire) who was my grandmothers mother married to Patrick Earley and went to Edinburgh in 1875 from Keadue. I managed to obtain marriage certificates from Ediburgh that gave me this information with Mary Wynne listed. The Scottish records are very good but they are very expensive from Australia unless you know exactly what you want. A Mormun researcher from Australia got them for me and although it took some months it was well worth waiting for.
My best wishes to you
ann
