Nancy The graveyard can be located off the Ballinamore/Carrick-on-Shannon road about 1/2 miles on the left hand side of the road leading to the Kiltoghert school. The Church and the graveyard lie on the north facing slope of a hill which is 400 ft. high. There is a Gallagher buried there. There are two graveyards in Kiltoghert, the old one which has the medieval church and the modern one next to it on the uphill slope. This info from a booklet Kiltoghert Towards the Millennium try the Parish Secretary, Kiltoghert Parish Office St. Marys Church, Carrick -on- Shannon. The booklet has 105 pages. This may still be availiable in bookstoees in Carrick. God Bless Jim Bohan

Just returned from the Leitrim Roscommon area in May. Maybe now I shall plan on another visit. No Gallaghers in my family, but my grandfather Patrick Moran and his brother John (parents Patrick Moran and Mary Cullen) claimed different counties - Roscommon and Leitrim. Have found Patrick and all siblings except John in Arigna (birth dates around 1830's).I am still looking for Mary Cullen's family - think she might have returned to Leitrim for John's birth. Are there any Cullen's or Moran's listed in the cemetery? Mary herself was alive in 1857-8 when John married in Scotland. Yes, I shall get in touch again with the church in Carrick on Shannon now that I know the dates are much earlier than those I had given them originally. The priest was very gracious to me. But if names are given for grave locations, I would be very grateful if you would check them for me. Thank you. Catherine
