Looking for information about Drumsna and the Mount-Campbell Estate. Last known occupant was Josias Rowley, died 1842 unmarried and without issue. Does anyone know if Drumsna town or parish of Annaduff is mentioned in Lewis's Topographical Directory (1837). - Thanks

Hello Bill, glad to hear from you again it has been a while. I was down in Drumsna recently, a quiet little place these days since the by-pass was introduced. They could certainly do with cleaning up a bit around the harbour are, a sight for sore eyes.

Anyway my Rowley research took me to Ballinamore library where I found a very helpful staff and some useful reference books including Lewis's Topographic Directory that I was looking for. Next to the website of the National Archives UK (Public Records Office) where I got the last Will and Testament for Sir Josias Rowley, his brother Samuel Campbell Rowley and their grandfather Sir William Rowley, all in the space of an hour on the net, weel worth a visit at: www.documentsonline.nationalarchives.gov.uk

I know that my Rowley family lived on a part of the Mount Campbell Estate (about 16 acres). Some family still lives there. The problem is that we do not know how or if we were related to Josias Rowley. My gggrandfather goes back to 1800, and died there in 1885. Please send me an e-mail address so we can compare notes.
