Back tracking family from Illinois

Some information that might help if you are searching a name in the Illinois Statewide Death Index (1916-1950). This is on line at www.cyberdriveillinois.com If the name you are searching has an (') - apostrophe, such as O'Beirne, try using a (@) - "at sign", between the first and second letters of the last name. I found this while searching an index at my local LDS center. I had been looking for the death cert number for my GGrandfather, Patrick F. O'Beirne for over a year and could not find it listed anywhere. There are hundreds of names that have an (@) instead of an apostrophe. I'm sure this is not the first time this has been posted, but I hope it might help in your search for deaths in Illinois. Good luck!
